I enjoy collecting quotes. The quotes may be about art, or music, or how to view or live life. I have a number of them on my desk top and look at them frequently for inspiration. I recently read a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson and added it to my desk top. When scrolling through some of those already collected, I discovered that this one had captured my attention some time ago. It was already in my collection.
"Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow."
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Another that has merit is:
"Don't die with your music still inside you." ~Wayne Dyer~
This could apply to artists in that we should not die with our art still inside. The world needs beauty expressed, both in music and art.

Open Studio Tour A Success
Many thanks to the friends and art lovers who attended our Open Studio
Tour November 3 in Kennesaw. Everyone seemed to have a good time and I
certainly did. It was a beautiful day. We are especially
appreciative to the collectors who chose to acquire new work. I
understand that other artists on the studio tour also had a good day. I
enjoy going on studio tours myself and often do so when traveling. The image above is of one of my paintings acquired by a collector.

Creative Fun with fine art
The Keyhole - mixed media collage 12 in. x 12 in.
I love working with color and design to create abstract works of art. This piece developed with the assemblage of various pieces of paper of pleasing colors. The rules that apply to more representation painting must still be considered such as color, movement, and composition.
